E-Commerce Package

As with our other packages all the basic services remain as standard and you may have as many pages as required to display your goods and services.

Extra service’s that are included in the E-Commerce package are:

Creating an online catalogue for your goods(Either programming within our company or using 3rd party software).

Setting up and ‘Online Merchant Account’ to allow customer payments to be made into your account.

Finding the most appropriate Web hosting service package to fully accommodate your needs.(The cost of hosting an E-Commerce site is significantly more than that of a standard site).

Train you in the use of content management software to enable you to keep your site inventory current with available goods, as well as continued support if required.

As there are many variables with E-Commerce Web sites and the potential size of the site a specific price cannot be quoted, however it is unlikely that the final cost would be less than £450. There will also be ongoing costs to 3rd party hosting providers.

There is also a cut-down alternative to the full E-commerce package, aimed at the new start-up which involves a smaller initial outlay on the Web site design together with some user training to keep the site inventory up to date, but has none of the setup costs involved in the full scale E-commerce. A small commission is paid per transaction through the use of links from 'Paypal' among others, with their embedded links in the web pages the transaction being immediate and showing up on your email account inbox.(Requires sign up to Paypal, free of charge). Depending on the size of the site, the overall cost for this service could be around £350, with no monthly payments to service hosting providers.

When deciding on a particular package it is important to have an idea of the types of services you may require and the services you may offer to others so that the correct Web hosting package can be purchased. It is possible to decide on a hosting package from one company only to find halfway through building the Web site that your needs have changed. While it is a simple process to upgrade your hosting package from within the same company, changing your provider is not always as easy as it should be and this can ultimately cause an unnecessary delay in publishing your site to the Web.
